BRIAN MAY FIGHTS BADGER HOLOCAUST, PRESUMABLY WITH SWEET LICKS

Brian May badger cull

His badger shirt was in the wash.

Lookout, badger haters.  Queen guitarist Brian May’s comin’ for ya.  An avid animals rights activist, May is speaking out against the proposed badger cull in Wales.  The badger holocaust (badgocaust?) has been devised as a attempt to quell the rampant spread of tuberculosis amongst cattle.

Plans for a cull of badgers in parts of mid and west Wales to help tackle TB in cattle have been approved by assembly members.

Assembly government proposals to introduce a similar scheme last year were defeated in the High Court by the Badger Trust. [BBC News]

Foiled “in the High Court by the Badger Trust?”  Those legal proceedings probably played out much less awesomely than the vision my imagination is providing me.

May had this to say about the new proposal…

“It makes a mockery of Welsh law in my opinion.  If this goes ahead, it will be straight back to the courts as there is definitely a legal question to be answered and I sincerely hope they don’t get away with it.  I am prepared to fight this all the way.”

Unfortunately, Brian may need some help in his righteous battle, and I, for one, sincerely hope the honey badger is fighting right alongside him to help out its brethren.  Honey Badger don’t give a sh*t!
